I really would not even give this company a one star. I can not believe or don't want to believe that people take your things with no remorse. They showed up one hour late (with no professional call to say a job may be taking longer) and then they arrived with a "certain" odor. While moving my furniture they were rough and I did say something twice. We even helped to move some things on the truck ourselves. With all this said and done I still gave them a $20 tip due to the price did not reach the amount I thought it would. However they had already tip themselves or at least one of the three did. Later that night we saw that my husbands nightstand drawer was loose. When looking inside we found that the Watch($295) I gave him for Christmas along with $50 or more worth of change was gone. The watch may have been just a Watch to them but there is a story behind it that can not be replaced. When I called to report this the owners brother was rude and accused me and said how could that be done. I wish I knew must have been done before. I sent certified mail with the value of the Watch etc. per owners request and still almost three week later no response. I would not be going through this trouble over something that isn't true. I know how businesses run but this is shameful! No compromise suggested and unless you are a part of this you know who did this. How can people be so thoughtless and take what isn't theirs. I have also spoke to Thumbtack so they can be aware and think about weather or not they want to keep them a part of their referrals.

If your looking for a excellent moving company call JAX ASAP MOVERS. Believe me you do not want River City Movers. Now let me tell you why the are unreliable not dependable unprofessional and untrust worthy and out right theives. They will rob you of all of your personal belongings they will pack your glass/frigle without pads, no label on your boxes etc.... The business look like a dump because it is a dump it look nothing like the preview picture. It's so dirty inside and outside it look like a savage yard. The workers are incompetent slow and lazy and will steal all of your personal property. The owner my answer the phone and even sound nice but he's a real snake/crook a shady low life. VERY IMPORTANT they will charge you for pads, tape, boxes, ect...at least 300 in these items along. My biggest mistake was trying to support my black business owner Mike, needs to close his door and stop ripping people off believe and trust me you don't want this moving business one of the worst decisions of my life. I pray this business go out of business because it's a disservice to our community and surrounding cities. Believe me Felecia

Unless you want your things stolen, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was in a rush to move a year and a half ago and thought this was a reputable company. I needed my things moved and stored at the same time and this was the first company that I found. I made payments faithfully every month, and if I was late, the manager called and we made arrangements. Until one month payments stopped with no warning. I called to ask why and could never get a legit reason as to why payments stopped and where my things were. I was made to feel like my things being pretty much STOLEN was my fault. The manager Michael proceeded to say my bank information must have changed (it didn't) or that I missed their calls (they have left messages before). I have never felt so embarrassed and ashamed to have used a company in my life. These people took everything I owned without even an apology. I will be filing a lawsuit.
Do not recommend!! I hired this company to move a piano and an organ for me. I was quoted one price over the phone, however, the movers arrived with a higher price on the contract. They said they would call the Operations Manager to get it taken care of, but no one could reach him. They proceeded to move the items, but then held the last item on the truck until I paid the higher contract price! I paid the difference and called the company the next day. After more than 15 attempts, finally got someone to answer the phone (called using a different phone). They refused to refund my money. I was then told by the Op Manager that he just gives quotes and can't do anything about what I was actually charged. Ridiculous company!
I could not have asked for better. This was my fist time using a moving company and River City Moving was the right choice. With limited time available and a light rain as well, they still managed to move everything I needed them to! And they did it for a great price.
