The problems started with the rouge driver we had. The first problem was that he picked up an unauthorized load for part of our truck. Due to this, part of our load which should have fit in one truck was placed into storage in their warehouse until it would be convenient to deliver to us several states away. Put that solved some of the problem when they "lost" several hundred dollars worth of power lawn tools which were never recovered. Then we paid nearly $800 for the unpacking service. Since the driver insisted on unloading on Sunday, when there is no one working at customer service, there was no one to unpack and we had to unpack ourselves. Several months later, Baymeadows has yet to reimburse us for this charge and so in total, we're out a couple of thousand dollars. OH and I forgot to mention, that they didn't dent or scratch furniture, THEY CRUSHED IT! An heirloom table totally crushed during the move costing several more hundred dollars to get rebuilt.
I was in a pinch to move out and was very fortunate to be connected with BMS (via North American Van Lines) about a week and a half before my move. Their responsiveness and willingness to work with me on pricing helped me avoid contracting with some of the shadier companies calling from all over the country. The movers who picked up in JAX were timely and efficient. An excellent experience.
Baymeadows Moving and Storage provided free boxes before the move, arrived on time, and provided professional service. The crew was polite and easy to work with. We had a small issue with a piece of furniture they reassembled for us, and they returned to our home a few days after the move to fix it. Highly recommend.
Johnny and his team did a fantastic job. They moved all of my big items and everything was wrapped with heavily padded cloths and treated with care. they listened to any special instructions or requests and followed my wishes exactly. Even the price was below what I expected.
So no way in hell would I recommend these bozos!
The entire staff at Baymeadows was professional, friendly and skilled. Our international move at that end was a treat. Sadly, our furnishings were transferred to another mover to cross the border. He was a disaster. He changed the delivery date five times, eventually forcing us to sleep on the floor after dismantling our lone bed. He said he would pay for a hotel room then backtracked on the offer. He kept us waiting three hours at Canadian Border Services after he picked the time for us to meet, then said his battery was dead. (And the dog ate his homework.) Finally he delivered our leather dining chairs spotted with mold and our sideboard lined with a white substance. (Drugs?) Baymeadows is excellent for local moves. Don't let them hand off your belongings to another shipper.
