Big Reds Moving was a great company and i am very satisfied with their punctuality and professionalism. The movers are very friendly and helpful with my belongings and I would definitely use them again, Ben was the driver, and was on top of his game!
Here was my experience with Jason/Big Red's Moving Service:
I don't normally write google reviews but this seemed deserving. We booked big red a few weeks prior to moving day. 2 days before the move after countless tries to get in touch with the owner, a guy who said he was the truck driver called and told us he didn't have any available trucks for our move. He tried to get my fiancé to rent a large uhaul in her name for his men and we were uncomfortable and refused so he said he would figure it out and get some sort of truck for our move.Long story short, he cancelled on our 8am move out time at 7:55am the day of and so we had to scramble to rent a truck and move all the furniture up and down stairs by ourselves.**Extremely** suspect business practices and I would strongly caution anyone against using them.
EDIT:
My first review was flagged and removed by google. I waited a month to write a review, because Jason had my credit card information. The DAY AFTER my review was posted, my credit card had fraudulent activity on it. Don't worry, I stopped it before any damage could be done, but that's why I said be very careful about giving your information to anyone.
The first time I called, I used the Jacksonville number and talked to Jason. Everything sounded legitimate when I first talked to him. I had shopped around prices prior to calling him, so I did not notice any red flags on our first phone conversation. Jason took down all my information, including my credit card number (please be wary of giving him yours, see edit below) and I scheduled a move 2 weeks away. He gave me a customer ID number to call back in case I need to change anything about the details of my move. The week of my move (moving Friday), I started calling Monday to change one aspect of my move. Never once reached anyone from any number on this website and I called them all. Left detailed voice messages. I started to get nervous by Wednesday and I found an email address on the website. I sent a detailed email. Never received a response, but a couple of hours later, I got a phone call from a trucker named Don. I started to say my customer ID number and that I wanted to change something about my move. "Ma'am, I don't know anything about no customer ID number, you're going to have to give me all your information" was the response I got from Don. He also asked me what the rate was I was quoted. These two statements really bothered me. If Don was affiliated with Jason and Big Red's, why was he asking me all the same information about the move that I already had given, and why in the world would he not know the rates?! Finally, we figured everything out and I expected to see/hear from Don Friday morning for the move. Thursday morning I get a text from Don telling me to call him as soon as possible. I called him and he starts telling me he doesn't have a truck at the moment or any extra guys and he's going to pass me to his friend over at B & B movers. I asked if they are going to honor the 99$/hr and he said no they are 250$/hr!!! I told him, no way that's not what I was promised when I first called and this is unprofessional! He said he'd call back with a plan. Two hours later he called back and told me to rent a U-HAUL truck for 24 hours (In my name = I'm liable), drive it to his office, leave it there with him, and expect him to show up the next morning!! The man even told me he would pick up extra men outside of the Salvation Army. Who would say that?! I told him, I was absolutely not going to do that. That this whole thing was unprofessional and that when you call a moving company, you're supposed to get movers and a truck. He agreed and said don't worry about it, I'll be there with a truck tomorrow morning. I had a sinking feeling in my gut, but what could I do at this point? Its the night before the move! 8am comes and goes, so I call Don. Of course, my worst fears come to life. Don actually started yelling at me saying, I was supposed to get a truck and it's not his fault, it's Jason's!! Needless to say, I had a royal mess on my hands that day. On what should be one of the happiest days of my life (fiance moving in), quickly turned into the worst day.
Bigreds Moving has helped me move 3 times now and I would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them to my friends and family. The guys were very respectful and hard workers! they are awesome!
This Company was very careful in numbering and keeping track of all of my boxes both when loading and unloading. I had over 40 boxes plus furniture and they did not lose or damage anything. They really care about their reputation and make an extra effort to do a good job and keep the customer happy. Much better than two men and a truck company that I once used.
Please read my review before you choose to do business with this "company". This is not a company licensed to do business in Florida, as far as I can find. The physical address they have listed on the website is an empty building. The owner's name is Jason. Every single number listed on this website, all go to Jason's cell phone. Jason calls subcontract drivers in the cities he has listed on his website. He does not have drivers or trucks. I doubt he is insured. Be very careful.
