Unfortunately, using Ocean Movers was an unsatisfactory customer experience in our case.
There was one person on the crew who was amazing and I'd hire him in an instant, but I personally will not work with this company again. (I am amending my initial rating of 1 star to 2 stars because of the crew member who was truly helpful, worked very hard on our behalf and was a pleasure to work with.)
If an estimator shows up and decides not jot anything down, I guess this is a good indicator that they are not reliable. These movers were not professional and I would not recommend them. They may be good for small places, but not big moves. They were not honest about their services and I even informed the estimator and manager, Rasheed (and also did the move) about needing two trucks and that one 26" truck will not do it alone. He even assured me that one truck will do and if another is needed he will provide one for us. Sure enough at 7p on a Sunday, he informed my husband that it will not all fit in the truck. And he didn't provide another truck! Wow, the worst situation to be in on a Sunday and the next day is a holiday and we weren't sure if U-Haul would be open and the movers were going to our new place at 7am, while we were stuck with 100 more items to load. It also didn't help that the office manager Amber Sahbudak was dishonest, rude and will tell only what you want to hear. I think she is bi-polar. These are not trustworthy people especially for movers! I guess it is a good indicator when their business address have changed multiple times so previous clients cannot complain about their horrible service. Not sure how they are still in business. They cheat people of their money! These positive reviews are probably a lie too. They were all written by their employees!
Ocean Movers did a great job for me. They arrived on time and moved some furniture from my late mother's house, some into storage and some into my house. They were very polite and the price was very reasonable. I would use them again.
This was my 3rd move with Ocean Movers - they are the best. The are quick, careful and very friendly. It has been a wonderful move each time.
We have used and referred Ocean Movers on many occasions. They are excellent, providing prompt service, patient and professional movers from scheduling, to packing, to moving. They are my go to movers!
UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I received multiple irate calls yelling at me in a very threatening tone by a company representative. Regardless of the situation, this is, in my opinion, an inappropriate way to handle customer care issues. I have since edited this review, trying to be as honest and fair as I can given our experience and extend the benefit of the doubt as much as possible. Please consider all reviews from multiple sources before making any decision, as other customers seem to have had positive experiences very different from our own. We wish the company well and are simply relieved to have a very stressful move over.
The crew brought the wrong size mattress bag after not bringing one at all... I was told I was too picky because I had my boxes labeled and requested they be handled accordingly. The crew showed up 2 hours early, with no communication in advance at the time of booking this could happen. If we had been told in advance we would have organized our timeline accordingly. We consistently felt talked down to and not heard throughout the experience by certain crew members. Communication was extremely difficult and we were left frustrated and confused at many points throughout the process.
