I'm most pleased with my food and the customer service. My first visit was worthy of me visiting this establishment again. Oh my, I forgot about the seafood salad......it was better than home made. Seasoned to a tee with plenty of crab claw meat. Everything was appetizing and delicious.
Initially my order was made incorrectly. Upon my return to obtain the correct order, the customer service was cordial, apologetic and very respectful. I was simply given the first order with no questions asked. My order consisted of smothered pork chops, a tablespoon of yellow rice (as requested), okra and tomato, candied yams. The pork chops were a nice generous portion and tasty, fresh, tender and seasoned just right. The gravy was divine. The okra and tomatoes had that "right out of the garden freshness". The yams were delectable with hints of brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Excellent!! Inside clean. Great prices $33 for 2 full meals drink and red velvet cake... home cooking food. Austin soul food its like home away from home!!
The food is always good... the staff never have an attitude... they’ve got the best prices and their seafood salad is amazing! Love this place!
Amazing food and service! Bathroom needs to upgraded for wheelchair accessibility. But other that. IT IS GREAT!!
The service was welcoming and delightful. The food was even better than the service. I always attribute really good cooking to the fact of me NOT having to season my food when it's brought to the table my food was seasoned just right. As I don't eat meat I ordered a vegetable plate macaroni and cheese, cabbage, candied yams, corn bread, and yellow rice with gravy all tasty. I took banana pudding, key lime, and pineapple cake to go. The Kool Aid was even made how I would made it myself, OMG good. This soulful restaurant was no let down this was everything my friend said it would be and more. I will be returning for more.
