We purchased some bookcases and paid the additional amount to have them painted. They were promised in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally arrived after 8 weeks, poorly painted, chipped and dinged on the corners, with streaks and drip marks on many of the surfaces. I could have done much better myself but I believed the store's claims about a professional paint service. This has been a disappointing experience in just about every way.
Solid wood furniture at a reasonable price. However, they overpromise and under deliver. It took almost 4 months to receive prepaid product.
Sadly, I cannot recommend Wood You. The staff is friendly and the furniture looks very nice. However, beware that despite the "Made in USA" image, our furniture was actually made in Vietnam and the quality is suspect. We ordered a kitchen table with chairs and despite two visits to our house to fix the issue, a few of the chairs are still not level. They claim it's our tile floor that makes it uneven, but on any surface at least two of the chairs wobble. All the other chairs we own in the house sit flat on the same surface. For the price we paid (not cheap), it's very disappointing.
I need to add more to this review. Upon receiving the bookcases and beginning to place books on the shelves, the shelves sagged. We immediately reported this issue to Ms. Dawn. She said she would contact the manufacturer and get back with us. We have never received this follow up. We definitely feel as though this shop is all about taking your prepayment but, not concerned with the customer's satisfaction. We have bookcases with shelves that can't hold a full shelf of books. Worse yet, WoodYou doesn't seem to care and doesn't return calls.
Five Star Furniture with 5-star staff. they are very helpful and informative and have a great selection of real wood furniture.
UPDATE: As a result of this post the owner of Wood You called me and wanted to do whatever it takes to make me happy with my new bookshelves. His painterr came to our home this morning and sanded/re-painted the areas that didn't look right. I'm now completely happy with my purchase and with the service I received.
