A must visit on your stop or drive through Jacksonville. Something this old and massive is just worth the stop. I felt like it has a Medusa feel to it with the branches almost alive as they extend from the mighty trunk of this Oak. Love Florida.
Came here with the family and we had a great time the tree was so cool looking it surely did look like an octopus it was the biggest tree I have ever seen in my life the kids were equally impressed they explored played in the grass and it was free! I don't know why I'm just finding out about this place but I figured I would write about it and encourage others to try it out as well I mean you can't see that kind of tree just anywhere I'm blessed to know but I have to see it.
I have heard about this tree and saw photos of it but being under its huge branches is awesome..... Estimated 250 years +.... Shockingly huge.... I loved it. The oldest living tree in Jacksonville.
This place was cool to see but parking is far away. Handicap parking is really good thou. IT is not the best neighborhood.
I love history and what better place than here? Think of all the clandestined meetings under this oak. Consider all the first kisses that took place here. How many lunches have been enjoyed under the Treaty Oak. How many people walk by it each day and marvel at its size. It is a treasure for the area.
Must see. I was able to park right in front of it witch was very convenient.
