Words can't express our gratitude for this Vet office! They were incredible when dealing with our elderly boxer. Their prices are always fair and honest, and their office staff is genuine and kind. Our boxer suddenly passed while in their office (due to age and cancer) and they took incredible great care of her and my Father through the process. I highly highly recommend them, they will forever be my go-to vet in Jacksonville. If you want an honest, friendly veterinary clinic, this is your place.
I've never had such a horrible experience with a vet. We brought our dog in as a first time patient and were given the news that he was dying. They ran blood work and told us the next day that it came back normal and gave us the diagnosis that he was in heart failure. They sent us on our way with medicine to help his swelling and told us that the medicine will only work for so long and eventually his heart will fail and he will die. We were completely heartbroken. When the medicine did not work we called back and spoke with another vet at this clinic. He told us that based on our dog's symptoms, it could either be his heart OR his lungs but they would have to do further testing to find out. And based on the testing, they could give us medicine to help the heart or lung function better. It wouldn't prevent our dog from dying, eventually, but it would improve his overall well being and help him while he is still with us. I asked why this wasn't offered to us in the first place. That if we could help the problem at it's source, instead of using the medicine they gave us to help only the symptoms, we would of course want to help our dog and give him an improved life and help his body function better while he is still here. We were given a death sentence by this animal hospital and sent on our way, with no options/hope/course of action. What a horrible way to treat someone and their pet. If you can help an animal in any way, at least let them know what their options are and TRY to help.
All of the staff and Doctors here are knowledgeable and care. Dr. Herb treats all my chickens and my other farm animals. They never push you to make pricey decisions, but lay all the options out for you to decide. They are respectful to owners and gentle with their pets. If I could rate them a 10 I would!
Hands down the best Animal Hospital I have ever been to. Dr. Herb is down to earth and explains everything to you. He really provides the best care and advice for my animals. Their fees are very reasonable and they quickly returned my calls. This is a great place to take your pet.
We brought our mini-pig, Boston, in to see Dr. Herb, because he was having some issues with collapsing on his hind quarters. Dr. Herb was very approachable and would sit down on the floor with our mini-pig and was obviously caring about the animals he works with. Will certainly be happy working with Dr. Herb in the future.
