My experience at Virginia college was really good. The teachers are awesome, and they really care that you complete the program with the knowledge you are given. The cosmo department, makes learning the techniques of doing hair fun and exciting while at the same time ensuring that you know how to take care of your hair, skin, nails, and perform the duties of being a stylist. BUT THEN THERE'S THE COMPLETION. I completed the program Feb 8th, 2016 and graduated June 8th, 2016. Like most students I was excited to finish and have a license under my belt. I passed the state board with flying colors, and graduated with honors. But when it came down to getting my diploma, that was a hassle. I was unable to pick up my diploma and still cant. I was told that I owed them over $7000 in order to receive my diploma. To make matters worse, nobody knows why. I called my financial aid rep, and she can't even tell me why. Here I am a straight A honor student who can't even get her diploma, and nobody can tell me why! All youre sayung is, "IT SHOULDNT BE LIKE THAT SINCE YOURE JUST NOW FINISHING." How do you go from EVERYTHING IS CLEAR FOR YOU TO GRADUATE, to YOU OWE OVER $7000 AND HAVE TO PAY IT TO GET YOUR DIPLOMA. Do I love the school yes, but when it comes down to you graduating, it's like they don't care. They don't care that you came to school everyday while going through a crisis, but maintaining your 4.0 GPA, winning contests, and being student of the quarter. That you were having seizures and kept having to make up points for missing school because you had to stay home or got sent home, but still finished on time. Or that you had a miscarriage over Christmas break and having to tell everyone you lost the baby but still walking the halls of the school going to class. Or even that you were pregnant again but you were going through depression and wanted to give up but because a special woman Alicia Gabriel talked you out of quitting and my godmother/instructor Mrs. Sandra Davis-Quinney grabbed you by the hand and took you to Ms. Jones because you wanted to give up not realizing that all this would be for nothing, is why I'm writing this review. I'm upset that I have an empty folder with no diploma that nobody knows why I can't have. It's not fair that I did everything they asked of me, never gave them problems, wasn't disrespectful, but I'm suffering. But on the other side, I have my cosmetology license. And i put it in my folder to help me remember my hard work paid off. My determination paid off. That I started the journey towards my dream. So thank you VC for everything, but you let me down.
Great staff very professional. Enjoyed the graduates gala" Can't wait to start school. ..
This campus has shown me they are not really about their students they are about the money. Some teachers are amazing but the rest of the staff is a big joke and money hungry. I had medical issues that caused me to miss school and fail one class and they withdrew me I wouldn't recommend no one else to come to this school. ITS A BIG JOKE. YOUR EDUCATION DONT MATTER TO THEM BUT YOUR MONEY DO.
If you want a good quality education, save your time and money and look into other schools in the area. The medical assistant program is mediocre at best and should be phased out just like the nursing program. I honestly feel I would've been better off going to Everest....
This school is a joke! I graduated one of the top students out of their Networking Degree program, and I wouldn't recommend this unless you have no other choice. They are all about the money. Networking has a few good teachers, but the staff of the college is awful. If you need to discuss a problem don't try to call, because nobody will help you. This is the next ITT. They rope in as many people as they can, especially military. They will sign you up, and you will be in school the next day. Don't fall for their garbage! Run away now!
