Scheduled a showing and theses folks wanted to make it an open house. At least four people waiting at the door wondering why did they tell us all to be here at the same time? Must want to save money by not showing the property to many times. Probably because they want all the application fees to tell you"I'm sorry we have already leased this property. Beware everyone these people steal from you not only your time you schedule but your application fees.
I give them no stars. We are relocating from Kansas to Florida, semi-retired. After filling out an application and paying the fee for both of us, the company demanded statement after statement from us, saying that we had to prove our income was coming from Jacksonville, even though we didn't live there yet. Rather than going by our credit report, they wanted copies of sensitive financial documents, a statement from one of our employers detailing the pay rate and hours, and a Social Security statement. After a couple of weeks going back and forth, we gave up and found another real estate agent who accepted our credit report and leased us a place, all within a day. Needless to say, the fee we paid them is non-refundable.
They will steal your security deposit and the customer service is very snippy -depending on the rep you deal with. One time our ceiling was leaking water BAD and we called and emailed them, finally we heard back and they said "well, put a bucket under the leak" really? Thats your response? Upon move-out they tried to bill us for "construction fees" What? I didn't realize we tore the house down. I understand Rental Management is not an easy business but its obvious when you're trying to be swindled.
This place is great! Every issue we have brought up to RES has been resolved in a timely fashion. Our air conditioning broke over the summer on a weekend and RES ensured that not only our system was working quickly, but the entire system ended up being replaced. Our utilities are so much lower now. We feel comfortable renting an older home with RES because we know that any issues we have will be solved quickly. Also, the application fee is way better her than other companies renting houses in Jacksonville.
RES does not respond to emails in a timely manner and does not communicate openly with the tenants of the properties they are leasing- our air conditioning company failed to honor MULTIPLE appointment times and instead of standing up for the renter, they invoiced us for the attempts. Our sink was leaking for over 3 days before they even let us know they had contacted a service tech to come out and fix it. Staff can be rude and is not flexible with renters on services they require like renewals. Will NEVER recommend RES as a rental company for people looking in the area.
