Great attorney. I was happy to get a female perspective on my side.
It is up to you who read this. The Norman Law response to this review is extremely judgemental; as if Ms. Norman were the judge. This office has NEVER asked if they were serving the needs of their client in this case. Very simple things, like tax returns, were not obtained prior to mediation, which we can all talk about. The agreement following mediation attributes an income of $6,500 to a First Year Teacher who, if you bothered to get your client's tax returns and those of her ex-husband for a fair shake, or insisted that matter be handled by Child Support Enforcement, makes no more than that from other investments, NO WAY makes $6,500 per month. In my opinion this lawyer either listened to and cooperated with opposing attorney or formed her own opinion about client rather than defend her.
While this law office did not charge for more than reasonable time spent, they were detrimental to me and my children against financial havoc in basic post decree matters of child support and visitation. During mediation Ms. Norman was texting her family members and let get by financial arrangements that were false and should have been referred to Child Support Enforcement. A completely outrageous income was allocated our household and other arrangements that have long lasting impacts on the children and household. She allowed for false document production to allocate me a phony large income to offset child support and expense allocation unfairly with no answer back or objection when I confided to her that I do not make that money. She admitted to not having produced or ensuring receipt of basic income information -income taxes- from the other side but allowed for negotiations in mediation for unfair child support. She did not go over the long term impacts or legal wording of the agreement herself or with me, like having to go before court to re-open child support instead of just opening child support case by walking in. We unwittingly gave up nearly $15,000 in child support forever and now the other attorney is claiming I falsified the record thanks to Ms. Norman's oversight. I am guessing she was either distracted or persuaded by opposing counsel to not object. Not worth $300 per hour in the least bit.
In a hearing we requested she objected to nothing and allowed opposing side to take up the entire two hours with phony arguments about application of child support payments, all of which would be fairly settled for free in Child Support Enforcement. We requested the hearing and she did not ensure our issues were heard at all. Even though she could have spoken up during the entire two hours to defend her client she simply said "That didn't go the way I thought it would." That was about a $3,00 -$5,000 hearing for us, and more if you look at what we lost long term in income. I don't think paying $300 per hour should get a voiceless person in mediation and hearings.
Sharon is a great resource of knowledge and donates her time to the Family Nurturing Center. I would recommend her for anything family law related.
She is the best attorney that I know. Very detailed and caring.
She held her own client to stricter standards by far than she did her opponent. We will be living with the results for years.
