Went in today because I had a nagging pain under my shoulder blade and in my lower back and my usual MT was closed for the holiday. I was told when I called that their MT's were great, but when I got there it was a different story. After getting undressed, it took my MT a while to return to my room. She seemed like a novice, had to give her a few instructions. She didn't seem enthused at all about performing my massage. I left out feeling the same way that I came in. Won't be returning. I've been getting massages for years and this one was by far the worst.
Awaiting a refund for a duplicate charge since February 2017. It is now June 2017. The owner acknowledges that there is a refund due, but provides no refund and no proof of any refund to a credit card, despite countless emails and tex messages. The payee is from another country and so we feel like Ms Emily had used this as an opportunity to take $400 from a customer, because she feels like no one will persue the situation. I, the gift recipient, cannot let that happen. I don't even want the massages anymore, that is how awful this ordeal has been. This is also not legal. What a character Emily is. But all emils and texts are documented. Unbelievable.
Very disappointed in management how to handle packages and appointments. Went last Tuesday when I found out that the therapist is not there. I have called Emily, the owner 3 times and she never called me back. Tomorrow I have an appointment and have no clue if I will go for nothing again. I have 5 more visits and I am unable to check with the owner if the therapist will work only on Tuesdays or need to make an appoi9ntment with another massage therapist. No customer service or respect. I will definitely not buy another package.
On May 5, 2017, a massage package was purchased for $375.00. (buy 5 get 1 free). I have been a regular client of Awakening Spirit Massage for well over a year and have taken advantage of their cost savings packages numerous times. Since my purchase on 5/5/17, I experienced a personal illness with a family member that required me to dedicate all of my available time and thus leave no time to utilize my remaining massages (4) that are left from my purchase. On July 11, 2017, I reached out to my massage therapist to request that the owner call me back so that we could arrange for reimbursement of the remaining massages. The therapist indicated to me that she would reach out to the owner and have her get back with me. A response never occurred. I subsequently reached out to my massage therapist again and requested the owners phone number. She replied that I would need to call the general number and ask for a return phone call. Clearly at this point that was not an option, since the owner had demonstrated a lack of response in returning my call on my initial request. It is important to note that Awakening Spirit does not provide clients with any notification/documentation of a no-refund policy. It is not listed on their website, no is there any executed documentation provided to the client upon purchase. As such, a refund for the balance of purchased massages was requested in light of this extenuating personal circumstance. Additionally, a formal complaint was filed with the BBB of which the owner never responded. Clearly, this lack of response appears to be a trend as illustrated with many of the recent reviews. It is a cautionary tale in the decision to purchase a massage package.
SCAMS! CHEATS! Bad business practices!!!!! I bought a very expensive gift certificate for a friend over the phone. These crooks charged me twice for the transaction and will NOT return my calls or emails! Emily the manager is the one that sold it to me and the one who won't call me back after many attempts. The charge appears to be intentional because they were done on two separate days. This doesn't appear to be a mistake! READ THE REVIEWS PEOPLE! They have done this more than once. Don't use this business!
