Great store with nice people running it...
This store is under investigation for violating Visa/Mastercard merchant rules by charging a minimum fee for using either type of card.
This is a nice store run by even nicer people. The only reason that they are dealing with credit card usage issues is because they were trying to offset some of the fees that they were being charged by the credit card companies in order for their customers to pay with credit cards. Most consumers don't even realize that the credit card companies charge merchants for the "privilege" of accepting credit cards. Why is it ok for the credit card companies to double-dip and charge both sides of a credit card transaction, but it is not ok for the merchant to try to offset these costs by insuring that the profit from a sale is sufficient to cover the credit card companies ridiculous fees? Mind you they were not charging extra fees, or charging too much, they simply asked their customers to spend a certain amount if they were to use a credit card. Its a small amount, too, around $5. Granted, it may be illegal under Federal law to require a minimum charge on credit card purchases, but whom is this law really designed for? The local consumers and the local small business owners? Not even close. It all is designed to fatten the already dripping-fat pockets of the credit card companies. So try to think about the facts behind these issues before reading some b.s. Google Review and forming a grossly misinformed opinion on the matter, Sheeple.
Good store
Small local store. As is usual in a small local store little variety and high prices. If you go here CHECK EXPIRATION DATES. Many foods are expired. Some I've found expired for over a year. Does nothing to tell the store workers. Also, they charge TAX on foods. I asked them about that, was told "tax on all food but water, milk and bread". However, when I use my EBT card they take the tax off. they know there is no tax on most foods. Close to my home, but I'm really trying not to give them anymore business. They are courteous enough, but I do not feel they are honest enough for me to give any money to. ijs Also it says food store, at least half the store is devoted to alcoholic beverages, last I checked that is not food.
