Loads of boutiques and restaurants to indulge. Recently they added the Avondale art walk on every second Thursday of each month. I've been to a couple of them as they are relatively new and they were loads of fun. Lots of great vendors and live music fills the streets.

There is a lot to do and see in the Shoppes, but my favorites are:

Mojo's, a bbq place that does decent burnt ends

If you are rich and have kids, this is the place for you. All the restaurants are GREAT! But shops are for ppl that have money... lots of expensive boutiques and kids shops. Lots of desert places too. Casbah is really fun and great if you are a young professional!!

Nice place to grab a bite to eat and have a good walk around. Parking is a pain in the butt, but other then that it was nice.

Mellow Mushroom, a pizza place with great slices and a nice beer selection.

Nice little area of predominantly restaurants and sweets shops and a couple of other stores. Quaint but busy in the evenings and weekends. Free parking available, but during busy times will require luck or a very short walk. The restaurants are mixed styles and foods but all offer good food. There is also a street market every once in a while (possibly quarterly or annually?) where the road is blocked and vendors are set up in the street. It's nice to window shop or just walk.

Great little shopling district that is slowly turning into a food lovers paradise. My go to places (in alphabetical order) are: Biscottis, Blue Fish, The Brick and The Fox. If you live in the neighborhood, it's an easy walk to get to the Shoppes. Upcoming is Christmas in Avondale, an annual celebration of the holidays that brings all your neighbors together for a fun night. I've found shop owners to be very helpful and it is a good feeling to support local small businesses.

Florida Creamery, a great ice cream shop based on Florida kitsch.

The only challenge with the area is parking. The area was designed in early 20th century during an age with less cars and less people. Parking capacity is an issue there, but thankfully the neighborhood surrounding has been kind and supportive of the issue allowing on street overflow parking during larger events.
