I've been working as an extra board driver since August of last year and I absolutely love it. I have a lot of freedom plus I get my hours.
my schedule was from 400 pm until 600am, 14 hr shift with a 10 hr break between.
This company talks a good game, but they fall way short. Health benifits, priced thru the roof and Zero driver recognition for good work ethics.

I drove for Pat Salmon and Sons from Aug 2014 until last week.
My box sat for 8 days at the Jacksonville, Fl 33099 location. The card inside my box was found loose at this post office and returned back to me. My box package was never delivered.
Very suspicious activity going on here.
They only paid me for 6.5 hrs. I would load in Panama City Fl and haul mail to Pensacola for 3.25 hrs of pay at 18.61 per hour...then off duty for 7.5 hrs stuck in a day cab, napping on a board between the bucket seats in a truck with over 500,000 miles on it, The power port didn't even work in the truck, so no satellite radio, no computer etc.. If the post office delayed my departure time they were supposed to give you a late slip for the extra pay, but they seldom did(their postal employees afterall) When I complained to my Supervisor that the Post Office was delaying me and would not give a late slip they always side with the postal employees. If you are delayed by traffic, weather, construction or for any reason, you don't get paid for the extra time. The hourly rate looks good on paper, but the split shift and non-consecutive days off make this a very crappy place to work. If you really need a job take it, but your definitely better off working elsewhere. This experience really "bit the big one" 70 hrs a week for 33 hrs of pay. Glad I quit.
The management is unprofessional, nothing productive is ever accomplished. Long time drivers, are treated just the same as if they started yesterday. Most of the trucks, are over 10 years old and the "mechanics" are just patch workers. If the problem is bigger than, an oil change. They send it out to get repaired by actual mechanics.
