New York atmosphere - sports, especially baseball in the70's. Adapted to Florida e.g. cheese grits. Owners are the staff. Friendly service. Good basic food.
Cooking eggs over easy is an art that most chefs don't have. Mario cooks them PERFECTLY EVERYTIME! Clean, friendly, and priced right. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!
The food tasted fine and the service was ok but the "chef"/cook was handling the food with his bare hands, wiping his hands on his quite dirty pants, reaching into his pocket and grabbing his phone & using it. No apron, no chef's towels and no hand washing (at least not while we were there). If the kitchen was hidden we may not have noticed but we sat at the counter and all of this was right in front of us like some weird horror movie. I love a good diner but a health inspector would have closed the place if he saw what we did.
This little place is tucked away from everything else but it certainly is a gem of a find. The food was great especially the Mandarin Salad but don't let the name fool ya, the most Italian thing in the menu was the meatball sub. It is a smaller place with an open kitchen but the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. This is a place that the locals frequent. Definitely going to stop in again!
Great for breakfast and lunch with a killer patty melt.......!!! Family owned and run with a very friendly atmosphere. I like watching Mario do the cooking.
